Well, well. How is everyone doing? It is hard to believe it is almost the end of May. Where did our spring go? Or is it still coming? Sometimes it’s hard to tell when you live up north. I can tell you where our spring went…..we were invaded by visitors from up north
and at the same time
That makes 7 visitors, all at once, in our little two bedroom condo. Good thing the boat was tied up out back, it makes for the perfect 3rd bedroom. And it turned out to be Gary’s and mine place of Nirvana to get away from all the noise and ciaos ;).
We did have a lot of fun times. The first order of business was a boat ride!
Of course for the three golfers there was plenty of
We put the crab pot in again this year
We tried chicken necks this year and as you can see, we caught nothing. Last year we used gizzards and hearts and caught a couple of them. Who knows what we’ll try next year. Funniest part of the whole crabbing experience? You buy some cheap chicken parts, you stick them in the trap, you throw the trap in the canal, you wait several hours, you check the trap, you find nothing in it, then you wait several more hours or maybe even over night and you still get nothing. Then Gary spends hours cleaning the thing so it doesn’t stink when we store it for another year LOL. This is why crabs are so plentiful in our area, we can’t catch any ;).
The big boys only stayed for a long weekend and then they headed back to their jobs. The other crew was staying for almost 2 weeks, so after the big boys left, the real fun started. There was swimming
and
for those that have to come back with a golden tan while the rest of their friends are all pale looking from lack of sun exposure.
We went miniature golfing
A little fun fact…..we went to this same place with our kids back in 1999-2000. The place was still in surprisingly good shape.
Of course there was the stop for, my personal favorite,
Then while the kids went to a beach one day, Gary and I were invited to a Birthday party for a few young kids. Recognize any of these northern people?
Let’s not shove the cake in his face Debbie ![]()
After we were full of Birthday cake and covered in sand, we did some more swimming
and fishing
of course there is always time for
Gary’s new kayak had to be tested out
We took the boat to downtown Fort Myers and saw one of our old girls
I think the new owner loves her a little more than the last one.
All the while we had our guests, you guys up north were
Up to your eyeballs in snow and cold. Now ask me again……why did we move to Florida?

Aren’t all of your big boats down there now?
And looks like fun for all with the visitors.
What a vacation crew! How FUN!!! Good thing you have your very private 3rd bedroom!
Your grandboys sure do love your pool!!!
