I forgot to mention the restaurant we stopped at in Savannah…..

and mainly my toilet experience, which I know you are dying to hear about.

So when I went to use the restroom, both of these doors were closed. When one of the ladies came out and was washing her hands, I just had to get a photo of the way you got up to the toilet itself. If you notice the light around the other door, you know these things aren’t exactly sound proof. Well I was having some stomach issues and unfortunately, I let some really loud and fragrant toots loose. I could hear the women by the sinks trying to ignore me until they got hit by the smell. “Oh My!” one of them said. Then they scurried out of there, I giggled all the way back to my table.
Ok, enough of that. Back to our next stop which was Pine Mountain RV park in Pigeon Forge, KY. The home of Dollywood! We arrived on a weekend, unfortunately, so the traffic was crazy. We always use our Garmin when we are traveling just because sometimes you can lose your signal if you use just your phone. When we were close to the RV park, the Garmin started taking us down very skinny, winding roads to get to our final destination. We were thinking it’s a good thing Kermit is the same width as our car because we were not sure a really wide or long RV would fit down these roads. After we got settled in, we figured there has to be a better way in than the way we just took, so we looked at the map. We found out we could have gotten to the campsite by taking a left off the main drag and driving a few blocks! That silly Garmin, always having fun with us.
Well the trip there was pretty rough, we ran into lots of construction and unfortunately, the repair job on our fender just didn’t hold up. This time Gary decided to just take off the fender and put back on the bigger tire. Too bad it was in the rain, again.

But I helped here too by holding the umbrella

Gary got pretty wet for having an umbrella held over him.

Now this campsite was more of a concrete jungle. Rather than surrounded by trees and nature, we were in the middle of a busy city.

Even here, people like to personalize their camp sites.

Look at this site. Pretty yes, but looks like a lot of work to me. There are 4 potted plants and 2 flowering plants. Seems kind of crazy to load these up into your RV, drag them cross country, and then place them around your campsite. You’d think they’d want to get away from having to water their plants. Of course they could all be plastic, I didn’t get creepy close to find out. But wow! Some of these people go all out.
This place did have a really nice bathrooms and showers. A big plus in my book.

Plus they had ice cream in their store. I was one happy camper!

We found out this place was very similar to Branson, if you have ever been there.

I had made reservation for the Titanic attraction at the same time I made the camp site reservation. So we went to that on Sunday

Before we went in, they gave us each a card with one of the passengers on it. As we walked thru the exhibit, we looked for our passenger to see if we could find out if we died or lived. They wouldn’t let us take any pictures inside, boohoo. What do they think we are going to do with those pictures, put them on the internet or something?
They did have a replica of the Grand Staircase there. Did you know that they bought the most expensive, top quality items to deck out the boat? Guess what they had on the floor around the Grand Staircase? Formica! Apparently that was top quality stuff back then. It even looked like marble. Everyone was able to walk up the Grand Staircase. Woohoo. But remember, NO PICTURES! Although I did see some people sneakily take them, naughty, naughty.

They actually didn’t have too many original artifacts from the ship but it was still a good way to kill a few hours. We found out that we both survived the sinking. Of course I did, how else would I be able to write this LOL.
I did get some nice pictures of some authentic artifacts

Kingley Netherton did make the anchor for the Titantic. This is a reproduction. I’m not even sure if it was made to size because the original was 18 feet long, the steel head was 10 feet wide and it weighed 15 tons. You people good with math can figure out if the anchor is to spec based on the people in the picture…can’t you?
We had a couple of days to just relax. The traffic was just to busy to try and go out and check out the area. I think we may have ended up shooting someone. So our next stop is Corvette museum in Bowling Green, KY. Tallyho!
It does look like Hwy 76, the main strip in Branson!
Formica?! Who knew!!!
Farting no problem for me any more… I lost all my sense of smell. And could Gary wait for a sunny day to change the tire? And good Bathrooms close by are the IDEAL campsites .

We were in Pigeon Forge fall of 2018, with our Retro, the year it got damaged in storage over that winter. We had a really nice RV park near the east end of the strip. Lots of trees for shade but it was STILL hot…upper 80’s and 90’s. We went there for a car show, but it was in Dollywood on blacktop and just too hot to stay for long, so we drove thru the Smokey Mountains one day and visited Gatlinburg the next. We pulled the trailer down with the ’38 street rod.
