Things My Boat Taught Me
* **People ask us why we retired on a Boat. For those who have
experienced the joy, no explanation is necessary; for those who have
not, no explanation is possible.*
* **I’d rather be Boating and thinking about God, than
sitting in church thinking about Boating.*
* **Four wheels move the body ……. two Volvos move the soul.*
* **Life may begin at 30, but it doesn’t get real interesting until
you are south of the Ohio
* **You start the game of life with a full pot o’ luck and an empty
pot o’ experience. The object is to fill the pot of experience before
you empty the pot of luck.*
* **If you wait …….. all that happens is that you get older.*
* **A Boat can never hold everything you want, …… but it CAN
hold everything you need.*
* **Don’t cruise so late into the night that you sleep through the sunrise.*
* **Sometimes it takes a whole tank full of diesel before you can think straight.*
* Cruising faster than everyone else only guarantees you’ll cruise alone.*
* **Never hesitate to cruise past the last marker at the edge of the inlet*
**Never do less than forty miles before lunch.*
* **A boat on the water is worth two in the shed.*
* **Respect the person who has seen the dark side of cruising and
lived ……. and still cruises*
**Young cruisers pick a destination and go……. Old cruisers pick a
direction and go.*
* **A good mechanic will let you watch without charging you for it.*
* **Sometimes the fastest way to get there is to stop for the night.*
* **Always back your boat into the slip and sit where you can see it.*
* **There are drunk cruisers…..and there are old cruisers …… but
there are not many old, drunk cruisers
* **Whatever it is, it’s better at seven knots…*
* **A inlet isn’t a just a channel……. it’s an attitude.*
* **Winter is Nature’s way of telling you to drive from the pilothouse.*
* **Keep your life jackets in good repair……. life jackets are not all
that comfortable for swiming.*
* **People are like boats: each is customized a little bit differently.*
* **Sometimes, the best communication happens when you’re on separate boats.*
* **A friend is someone who’ll get out of bed at 2 a.m. to drive his
pickup to the middle of nowhere to get you when you’re broken down.*
* **being shit on by a sea gull @ 7 knots can double your vocabulary.*
* **Everyone runs aground. Some get off…… some don’t …….some can’t.*
* **If you can’t get it going with bungee cords and duct tape, it’s serious.*
* **If you boat like there’s no tomorrow …….. there may not be.*
* **The best modifications cannot be seen from the outside.*
* **Always replace the cheapest parts first.*
* **Only a boater knows why a dog shits on the deck when the diesels are fired up.*
* **Keep the painted side down….. and the shiney side up !*
* **There are two types of people in this world…… people who cruise full time ….. and people who wish they could cruise full time.*
*CRUISE EM IF YOU GOT EM !!!*
